The Wigeon is a very rare kind of ducks. It is registered in the Red Book. The Wigeon lives in large overgrown basins with large areas of clean water and opulent vegetation. The Wigeon nests by pairs, and lays eggs once a year (May-June). Sitting lasts for 22-23 days.

The Tufted Duck is a common kind of ducks but is spread irregularly: at some basins the birds are rather numerous, at other it is rare. The Tufted Duck usually lives at large lakes and impoundments with opulent vegetation. Nests by groups. Lays eggs in May – June, the sitting lasts for 23-25 days. It is only the pen-duck who cares of small birds.

The Baikal Teal is a big beautiful teal. Its Russain name “Kloktun” the teal obtained due to its voice: the cock calls a loud hollow disyllabic “klo-klo”, which differs from othr ducks’ voices. The Baikal Teal lives in Taiga lakes and rivers. Nests usually on the border of the forest with a bog or a tundra area. In autumn and winter eats grains in the fields, in summer – wild plants seeds and small water invertebrates.
