The Scottish Shepherd

The postage stamps issue is timed to celebrate the World Dog Show 2016, the first world dog show in Russia.

Service breeds comprise strong and hardy dogs with innate patrol skills. These dogs are usually large that need lengthy walks and exercise load.

The Scottish Shepherd (collie) is a smart and witty dog that boasts natural intelligence, good power of scent and acute hearing and can be trained easily.

The German Shepherd is a dog with a high level of trainability, amazing power of scent and an astonishing intuition.

The image of the German Shepherd is based on Dobrynya, a puppet given by the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to the French police as a present. In future, the puppet will take place of Diesel, a dog who died during counter-terrorism operation.
