Yu.A.Gagarin cosmonaut training Centre was established in January 1960. Its main aim is to make cosmonauts ready for flights on all kinds of manned space vehicles. A centrifuge "CF-18" featured on the stamp is used for the research and cosmonaut training as it imitates prolonged acceleration. The background features the landing module of the spaceship "Soyuz" in the Earth atmosphere.

For the control of the cosmonauts condition during the flight, processes of carrying out the experiments and development of recommendations to crews in regular and unplanned situations a training-material base is created in the cosmonaut training Centre. It is provided with exercise devices and full-size models of spacecrafts and orbital stations, one of which is featured on the stamp.The background features the Mir station in the near-earth space docked with the spaceships "Soyuz" and solar power modules.
