Admiralty is one of the masterpieces of Saint-Petersburg architecture, the monument of Russian classicism. The ship on its steeple is one of the symbols of the city along with the Copper Rideman and Palace Bridge .

It is supposed that the prototype of the ship is the first Russian vessel – frigate “Eagle”, built according to the order of tsar Alexey Mikhailovich in 1667-1669.
