Was situated in Sukhareva Tower (1692-1695, by M.I.Choglokov, was wrecked in 1934).It was the first secular educational establishment, which laid the foundation for the marine education in Russia. The stamp features shallops "Vostok" and "Mirniy" of the Russian round-the-world antarctic journey of 1819-1821 under command of F.F.Bellinsgauzen (1778-1852) and M.P.Lazarev (1788-1851). 652 8.00 37×26 The St Petersburg Naval institute. In 1715 by Peter the Great decree a Naval Academy was fonded in St Petersburg. In 1752 it was transformed into the Naval nobiliary cadet corps. In 1918 on the base of the cadet corps an institution of Red fleet was established. Nowadays there is a St Petersburg Naval institute (till 1999 - the Supreme Naval school of a name of M.V.Frunze. In the centre of a composition of the stamp there is a building of Naval institute. At the left there is a monument to Admiral I.F.Kruzenshtern, the director of the Sea body from 1827 to 1842 (sculptor I.N.Shreder, 1873). multicolor 8.00 4.00
