Porcelain tiles are architectural ceramic (clay) items in a form of box plates or curvilinear parts. In Russia, ceramic decorative tablets were used to decorate palaces, cathedrals and churches, as well as to revet ovens. The main subjects of porcelain tiles were hunting and battle scenes, heroes of folk tales, fables and Russian epics, real and fantastic animals and Slavic mythological characters.

The stamps depict porcelain tiles from various regions of Russia.

FSUE PTC “Marka” also will manufacture an illustrated cover with four blocks of 4 stamps and first day covers with cancellations (Moscow, Yaroslavl, Abramtsevo, Gzhel Brickworks) inside to the postage stamp issue date.
