The Russian railways is one of the largest transport system in the world – operational length is 85,2 thousand km.
The postage stamp depicts the image developed on the basis of the celebration emblem of the 175th anniversary of the Russian railways, on the margins of the souvenir sheet there are trains and locomotives of different times: steam train of serie P36 (produced in 1950), electric locomotive VL10 (produced in 1961-1986), electric train ED9M, high-speed train “Sapsan”.
