Large jewel corporations appeared in Moscow and St.Petersburg at the end of the 19th century. They used new methods of precious metal tooling. In Moscow the firms of Sazikov, Ovchinnikov, Khlebnikov, Semenov were famous, and in St.Petersburg - those of Morozov, Grachev, Faberzhe. The stamp features a snuffbox (1820, by D.Kolesnikov) and a mug (1849, P.Sazikov’s firm).

New forms of dishes became wide spread in the 19th century. Tea became very popular among Russian people. A lot of silver samovars, tea-pots, tea-caddies, tea-strainers, slop-basins, sugar-basins and sugar tongs. The stamp features a teapot of an unknown master (1896-1908).

Silver things harmonized with classic interior very well due to their silhouette, regular geometric forms and laconic ornament. The stands of various bowls, vases and candlesticks often were shaped as angels and women dressed in antique clothes. Often it were famous architects who designed such things. The stamp features a vase designed by an unknown master (1896-1908).

The stamp features a tray and a candlestick (1896-1908), fabricated in the workshop of O.Kurlyukov, famous in Moscow since the 1880's to 1918. In 1895 Orest Kurlyukov was prized with a medal of the Ministry of Finance "For Love, Heartiness and Skill". The master was in certain dependence on church orders, that is why he followed the traditions in forms and decor of the hieratic things.

Since the 1930's of the 19th c. historical styles of the ornamental art started copiing the styles of the past epochs. First, it is expressed in the returning to the rococo forms and ornaments, and also in looking for the Russian style by means of imitation the ancient Russian handiworks. It gave an impulse to the development of a particular interest for such techniques as enamel, niello and filigree. The stamp features a creamer, a coffee-pot and a sugar-basin made in 1852 by A.Kordes.

The margins of the souvenir sheet feature a bratina (a large ancient vessel, in which drinks were served to pass round). Bratina was usually used at baptismal service, name-day celebrations and wake. The bratina featured on the sheet was made by K.Faberzhe firm in 1896-1908.
