The opening of the first line of Moscow Metro took place on the 15th of May, 1935. One of the first Metro trains and the overland entrance halls of the terminal stations “Sokolniki” and “The Central Park of Culture and Rest named by Gorky”, a modern Metro train and the contemporary Metro scheme are depicted on the stamps. The entrance halls of “Majakovskaja” and “Park Pobedi” metro stations and one of Moscow metro escalators are depicted on the stamp grounds.
