This plane was added to Russian armoury in 1940. It was the fastest serial fighter plane of the new generation of the Soviet air force. MIG -3 was intended for conducting fight on low heights (lower than 4 kilometers). Owing to the peculiarities of the scheme, of the construction, of the power-plant and of the aircraft performance qualities MIG-3 planes showed their worth during the defense of Moscow in 1941, during the night fights against the bombers. More than 3 thousand fighters of this series had been produced during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

MIG-15 is the first Soviet mass jet-plane. It was one of the most famous world planes which had been used and adopted in different modifications in the Armory of the USSR and other countries. MIG – 21 is the most outstanding Russian fighter of the third generation which had no equals in the air fights of 1960-70. The fighters of this type had been the main part of the USSR and its allies fighter aviation. They had been the most widely spread fighters in the world till the beginning of 1990. The successful fight appliance of MIG-21 in the numerous armed conflicts induced the USA and the Weastern Europe aviation companies to work constantly on the increasing of their jets characteristics and to catch them up with MIG level.

MIG - 25 pertains to the third generation of the fighter-planes. The first flight took place in 1964. MIG-25 was first in the world mass fighter which achieved the speed level of 3000 kilometers an hour. It had become the record-holder in the number of hold records (29), three of them were overall.
