The Soviet military forces had carried out serious strategic offensive operations in January – October, 1944. During the winter campaign fascist troops were derouted near Leningrad, in the Crimea and in Right-Bank Ukraine, and during the summer campaign – in Karelia, Belorussia, Western Ukraine, the Balkans, Eastland, Hungary and Northern Finland. The stamp features the statue of the Unknown Soldier. The margins of the souvenir sheet feature the plan of the strategic offensive operations of the Soviet military forces in January – October,1944, and also documentary snapshots of the war time.
