The first Russian phone connection between these cities was started in 1898. To the left there is the Moskvoretskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin (1487, by M.Ruffo). To the right there is St.Isaac Cathedral in St.Petersburg (1818-1858. by A.A.Monferran). The text reads "The 100th anniversary of intercity phone connection in Russia".
