Russian and Israel joint issue is devoted to the translation of a poetical novel "Yevgeny Onegin" into Hebrew. The stamp features the imaginative meeting between the author and the hero of the novel on the Neva embankment. In the left part of the sheet there is Pushkin's self-portrait (1829) and his signature, as well as the cover of the first publication of "Eugeny Onegin" (1825) against the background of his manuscript. In the right part of the stamp there is a portrait of Avraam Shlensky, a translator of the novel, and his signature. Above the portrait there is the title page of the novel published in Hebrew (1953). The text reads: "Avraam Shlensky, a Jewish poet, translator of "Eugenu Onegin" into Hebrew".
