In the 1960s the states signed bilateral agreements in the field of trade, economic cooperation, science, technology, education and culture. Sri Lanka is becoming a popular tourist resort among Russian travellers. About 70 000 tourists from Russia have come to visit Sri Lanka over the last years.
The postage stamps depict Bakhchisaray Assumption Monastery and the Golden Temple of Dambulla.
