The Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow is the largest museum of Russian art in the world. It was founded in 1856 by P.M.Tretyakov as a private collection. In 1892 he granted it to Moscow together with his brother's collection. After 1917 the gallery was refilled with the collections of several museums and rich collections of Ancient Russian icons of the 11th-17th cc, painting of the 18th-20th cc, sculpture and graphics. The Gallery is situated in the former house of the Tretyakovs. The stamp features the housefront, designed by V.M. Vasnetsov and built in 1902.
